Malam Gamelan Jawa (An Evening of Javanese Gamelan) is a workshop followed by a performance of Javanese Gamelan in cooperation with the Oxford Gamelan Society. The workshop starts at 3:30 pm where some of the members of the society will guide through the fundamentals of Javanese Gamelan music. Whether a seasoned musician or a curious novice, all are welcome to explore Gamelan's intricate rhythms and cultural heritage. The workshop will be followed by a performance at 6:30 pm. This will run for approximately an hour or two, and the audience is welcome to come and go as they please at any time of the performance, as is traditional in Gamelan concerts. Admission for this event is free of cost and includes drinks and food. The Oxford Gamelan Society will also be joined by Oxford Youth Gamelan and St. Andrew's Primary Gamelan Club.

Intermezzo Chamber Choir Summer Concert

The Intermezzo choir will be singing "Songs of Resistance", including eye-opening music from or about the oppressed and unfortunate in South Africa, Haiti, Ireland, the American south, Soviet-occupied Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia, and of course ancient Babylon.
