Ensemble Isis <edge> series

Tuvan and Sardinian Songbooks (selected movements, 2016-18) and TRIO: In Space Enlaced (2008-12) alongside new works by Holly GowlandHenry Le Feber Robertson and Jack Chambers

The winner of the 2015 Ernst von Siemens prize, Christian Mason is established now as one of the leading European composers of his generation, and his colourful and highly-wrought music is widely seen as a natural extension to spectralism and other forms of expanded tonal composition. This concert is the fruits of the first Ensemble Isis <edge> residency this year, in which a leading contemporary composer works closely with the student performers and composers from the Faculty of Music. Tonight Christian will introduce performances of his instrumental compositions in discussion with Professor Martyn Harry.
