Elaine Mitchener describes herself as 'an experimental vocalist, movement artist and composer whose works encompasses improvisation, contemporary music theatre and performance art', and is well-known for her work with ensembles such as Apartment House and her recent collaborative projects in Berlin as a DAAD scholar. Elaine will co-direct in this second Ensemble Isis residency, in which a leading contemporary composer works closely with the student performers and composers from the Faculty of Music. Elaine will introduce performances of her recent compositions in discussion with Professors Martyn Harry and Jennifer Walshe.

Intermezzo Chamber Choir Summer Concert

The Intermezzo choir will be singing "Songs of Resistance", including eye-opening music from or about the oppressed and unfortunate in South Africa, Haiti, Ireland, the American south, Soviet-occupied Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia, and of course ancient Babylon.
