The new Kreutzer Quartet album, Something So Transporting Bright, features a piece written in 2020-21 by Tom Metcalf (Worcester, 2014), now Christopher Cox Junior Research Fellow at New College. The piece, entitled Pixelating the River, is a 28-minute string quartet in one movement which uses the visual process of pixelation to generate musical material from a map of the River Thames, exploring narratives of nature and technology.
