Sampling the City: Shiva Feshareki Live at the Sheldonian

Sampling the City is an interdisciplinary project between Shiva and the Faculty's Electronic Music Practice Research Group (EMPRes) incorporating sound, composition, technology, hermeneutics and architecture. The performance in the video below was the culmination of her 2021/22 visiting fellowship sponsored by the Humanities Cultural Programme.

In this live performance Shiva manipulated recordings and narratives collected from across the city, juxtaposed with music and archive recordings from the EMPRes library, to create a unique spacial composition and new perspectives out of the diverse sounds and narratives of Oxford.

More information about the project can be found in the video below and on the EMPRes website
