Professor Sarah Hill elected as Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales

Professor Sarah Hill is one of the new Fellows elected to the Learned Society of Wales, the national academy for arts and sciences. Their Fellowship brings together experts from across all academic fields and beyond. They use this collective knowledge to promote research, inspire learning, and provide independent policy advice.
On the appointment, Sarah writes: "As a Californian, I am delighted to join this body of engaged scholars whose work has so enriched the country that I now call home."
Sarah Hill is an Associate Professor of Popular Music and Fellow of St Peter's College, Oxford University. She has published widely on issues of popular music historiography, politics, and cultural identity, particularly in relation to the Welsh language. Her academic work on Welsh-language popular music is the first of its kind and has contributed significantly to the global understanding of Welsh popular music.
