The Faculty of Music is delighted to welcome Professor Nina Sun Eidsheim to Oxford this week as the Astor Visiting Lecturer. The Astor Visiting Lectureships support visits by distinguished academics from the United States for up to one week, helping to foster international scholarly exchange and enrich research and teaching across the University.

She is is an artist, vocalist, and writer who works in and through voice, race, words/concepts, listening, and materiality. Some of this work is done through the UCLA Practice-based Experimental Epistemology Research (PEER) Lab, an experimental research Lab Nina founded and directs, dedicated to decolonializing data, methodology, and analysis, in and through multisensory creative practices.

During her visit, Professor Eidsheim will be meeting with students and researchers, and taking part in conversations and workshops on topics related to her work on voice.

Professor Eidsheim will deliver the keynote as part of the RMA Postgraduate Voice and Singing Study Day, which forms part of the Graduate Research Colloquium. This lecture, at 3pm on Thursday 16 May in the Cinema, is open to the public.
